Kara Raynaud is an author-artist, screenwriter, and director who’s been making movies (and occasionally magic) for over 20 years. She started out as a celebrity makeup artist, then traded brushes for scripts—writing dozens of projects, many optioned by notable producers. Along the way, she helps other writers shine with coverage, coaching, and development notes that actually make sense.

She wrote and directed The Queen of Greenwich Village, starring Anne Meara and Carole Shelley, and most recently A Breath Away. Before moving to California, she wrote, produced, and directed a holiday reading of The Bluebird of Bed-Stuy, a modern, diverse twist on Maurice Maeterlinck’s classic. Twelve screenplays later, she continues creating stories that captivate audiences.

Kara is also the author of No Home For Romeo… The Diary of a Homeless Dog. She is a proud member of NYWIFT, the Wimpole Writers’ Group in London and Los Angeles, and the Susan Batson Studio in NYC.
